Also, nursing has changed over the years. It has become much more diverse over the centuries. Some of the changes are clothes, materials, tools, requirements, regulations, illnesses, diseases, and hazards. First, it took a long time for things to change like in the 1600’s and 1700’s if you were poor you were put in an isolated area, however, if you had enough money, particularly the rich people of that time did, you could easily afford any form of medical care one needed back then. Next in the 1800’s and 1900’s; in the 1800’s there were a lot of outbreaks of diseases for example, in the United States there were outbreaks such as yellow fever and cholera. However there were many other diseases going on in the different countries. Until the 1900s no state in the United States of America had a nurse practice act and nurses were neither registered nor licensed. In fact, until the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920, women had very few rights. But, thanks to the Nineteenth Amendment they were able to obtain many professional job titles such as more advanced types of nursing. The vast majority of working nurses had no formal education and most worked in unregulated, crowded workplaces or as private nurses in home care settings. Over time, though the nurses were able to have higher paying jobs and the work became simpler and faster. One of the major changes in nursing was the invention of computers, which made writing and keeping track of a patient’s needs and information much quicker and much more efficient. (Nursing School
