A Career As A Nurse Practitioner Essay

Nurse Practitioners occupation includes; saving lives, evaluating and diagnose patients, provide care for premature and newborns to the elderly patients, see their clients daily, and are often on call, this is a career I which to achieve because I really enjoy helping others. As a nurse practitioner I would not occasionally get weekends off but I would also be working for a good cause. This career has interested me since I was 12 years old. This career field is right for me because I like working with medical things and most of my family has also worked in the medical field. Some challenges that concern me about this job is the amount of sleep I would get. Nurse practitioners have a high level of social interaction. They are often exposed to many diseases and are always working indoors. They help provide care for premature newborns and elderly people who are not able to do things themselves. They do not get much free time but they are almost always helping that is not able to do it alone. Nurse practitioners may stand for long amounts of time. Most of their objects or supplies are close by but they are always with a client. Some attractive features in this career is always knowing that someone is being helped, and that a life may be saved. Employers provide benefits such as insurance coverage, retirement plans, and paid holiday’s. Daily tasks will also vary depending on the patient 's. A nurse practitioner does not work a traditional shift. The shifts will vary and they will also rotate on a regular basis. Which can be a huge benefit in giving them a variety and flexibility. “Nurse practitioners seem to never get bored, they 're always up and doing something. They get vacation times often each year. A get a good amount of sick leave time. Some of them might also get a travel allowance if expected to make house calls”
