The Nurse Manager Inventory evaluates the skills and behaviors that are associated with successful nurse managers (Sherman, Schwarzkopf & Kiger, 2011). In this case, I evaluated myself using the inventory tool and discovered the competency of my skills. However, I found out the weaknesses and strengths in career planning, personal journey disciplines, and professional accountability. Significantly, the self-evaluation process assists in creating professional development. Furthermore, nurses’ managers should make an optimal contribution concerning coaching, motivating and guiding the professional team to deliver quality health care. It shows how I am competent as a nurse at a personal level when guiding the entire workforce. It is important to display ethical behaviors and practices within the workplace. After evaluation, I discovered that I needed to undertake some activities to improve my nursing skills. Mainly, personal development and growth were rated as competent since I possessed the required nursing education, annual self-assessment, and action plans. A low score for ethical behaviors in the workplace illustrated the only area of weakness. In this case, nurse manager is meant to uphold a high level of standards in the scope of practice. Moreover, the analysis indicated that something should be changed to maintain ethical conduct in the firm. Ethical standards were relevant to facilitate healthy behaviors in a professional manner and promote moral behaviors in the company. The evaluation indicated a high level of involvement and networking in the nursing sector. Therefore, it gave me greater credit for professional association involvement that contributed to networking and professional growth. Concerning certification, it was clear that I had achieved some accreditation in the relevant field. In this case, shared leadership evaluation indicated a strong level of knowledge and expertise that facilitates shared leadership. Furthermore, shared leadership is the ability to solve problems and reflect on appropriate techniques for making decisions in the organization. Problem solving is essential when dealing with challenging issues and supervising in a dynamic environment where major issues need to be addressed. The problem solving knowledge has allowed me to coordinate the entire workforce. The act of solving problems, improves the level of services offered in the nursing environment. Reflective practice needs to be improved on a daily basis to ensure the nurses are operating in the right manner.
