Setting plays a major role in the plot of a story. In Number the Stars, much of the plot had to deal with the time and the place of the book. In Number the Stars, the setting takes place during World War 2 and mostly in the location of Copenhagen, Denmark, and eventually falls around the Denmark-Sweden border. The setting shows the struggles and difficulties of the Dane’s environment. Time definitely affected the life of many of the people that were Jewish and even the most average of people. You can tell the setting is a very big ordeal to the story by the time and place of the story. The discrimination of the Jews were due to the time, place, and ignorance of the Nazi organization.
