background was as follows. Timothy Tiah attended an all boys school, St. Xavier's Institution when he was younger and then moved on to study at University College London after college. He lived a very typical student life as he grew up, going to cyber cafes and playing games such as Counter Strike and Starcraft for fun. He had a knack for table tennis as he used to play it really well and represented his school and eventually, his university when he studied in London. After finishing college, Timothy Tiah went on to pursue a BSc in Economics at University College London, which happened to be in the top 25 universities in the world at the time(NewsWeek) and the top 14th university in the world now(Times Higher Education). He planned on becoming an investment banker after graduation mostly because he knew that investment bankers made a lot of money. Thus, he spent his summer holidays interning at major banking companies such as JP Morgan as well as Deutsche Bank in hopes of learning more about investment banking. However, there were many difficulties faced while running Nuffnang, mainly due to lack of experience as both Timothy and his partner were new to this. The difficulties faced included controlling cash flow of the company, inexperience of how the advertising industry functioned and many mistakes that were made while running the company. As the company grew rapidly, things got harder to control as they had to find a way to manage systems such as cheque and balance and this led to mistakes that resulted in the loss of money. However, they eventually learned from the mistakes and the company grew bigger. Some of their clients also became their mentors.
