There is a way to counterbalance this problem that involves reducing some restrictions on the industry. In today’s society, more industries are starting to be created, which leads to the creation of more jobs. Some industries that are always prosperous include the amusement industry, recreation industry, oil and gas extraction industry, solar industry, automotive industry. These industries are responsible for the creation of over hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US and also increased the economy. Currently the federal minimum wage is $7.25. Which is not enough for someone to provide for a family. There has been debates on whether to increase minimum wage to $15 or to let it improve over time. In the article “The Two Moralities of the Minimum Wage” by Dwight R. Lee, discusses that most of the supporters of minimum wage see it is a moral issue. Lee then talks about the two moralities he calls them the “magnanimous morality” and the “mundane morality”. The magnanimous morality “helping others intentionally and doing so at some personal cost with the help going to identifiable individuals or small groups”. The mundane morality “obeying general rules that promote the common welfare when widely adhered to.” The article discusses how the government affects the minimum wage in a positive and effective way, and how the policy is seen as magnanimous morality.
