Unit 3 Essay
In a perfect world climate change, wouldn’t be a problem, people wouldn’t go hungry, you don’t have to choose to get skittles or sour patch your mom would buy you both and many other things. And say in this perfect world we found a solution. The solution was to make humans autotrophic reducing our carbon foot print then maybe even reversing global warming. But even if this were to happen other problems would arise such as people having to change their lifestyles, tons more of water will be drank.

But just saying let’s make everyone autotrophic won’t work so we must figure out a way to make everyone autotrophic. Let’s use Mr. greens way, this is where already autotrophic people pollenate other people to also make them autotrophic. And this would be great but there would also be drawbacks. So, let’s elaborate what was said before. Okay so the good is that everyone would drastically decrease their carbon foot print this I because people won’t need to farm food. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations states that agriculture is responsible for 18% of the total release of

We can start with the 786 million people who don’t have access to water. How are these people expected to survive? How are these people even surviving right now? But as autotrophs water will be needed since we won’t be getting war from food either. Plus, how will people react when they find out they’re growing plants on their chins. People don’t like change. And maybe becoming an autotroph doesn’t man were going to have natural instincts either. Also in most definitive some people don’t know what’s going on f we make the autotroph without their consent. Not everybody thinks climate change or our carbon footprint is a problem (also, not everyone wants to be an autotroph). So, this is where we (autotrophs) make the decision for

Part B Q1. The normal dose of paracetamol is very safe to use and it is not over 4g per 24 hours; however, when the patient take more than 6g per 24 hours of paracetamol, the liver necrosis will happen within 10 to 12 hours and liver damage may occur within 24 to 48 hours. For the metabolism, most of the paracetamol is converted to nontoxic metabolites by the phase II conjugation of glucuronide and sulfate and a small amount of paracetamol is oxidized by the Cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes in the phase I metabolism. In this phase, CYP1A2 and CYP2E1 enzymes convert paracetamol to N-acetyl-p-benzoquinoneimine (NAPBQI) which is highly toxic substances.…

Global warming, the carbon footprint, the greenhouse effect, whatever you wish to call it climate change is an issue that not only affects us but every living organism on this planet. In American author, Michael Pollan’s essay “Why bother?” he presents the issue of climate change and the very reason why it is still a problem after so many years, because of people who believe “why bother.” “Why bother” refers to the mental reality of believing that one individual can’t make any form of difference for an issue. Now while this idea is not entirely false I do feel it has a rather large hole in it.…

Born on June 25, 1892, General Shiro Ishii of central Japan, along with a flux of doctors and scientists from across the country, became responsible for the mutilation of at least 3,000 citizens of surrounding Asian countries during the second Sino-Japanese War and World War II by manufacturing a system of human experimentation performed in a remote location infamously known as Unit 731 (Byrd, 2005) (Mitchell, 2013). Known to the public as the “Epidemic Prevention and Water Purification Department of the Kwantung Army,” Unit 731 was erected in 1936 in a Japanese-controlled area known as Pingfang, Manchukuo. Nowadays, the former puppet-state forms a part of northeastern China (Mitchell, 2013). The facilities of Unit 731 itself covered six square kilometers, and its faculty focused on researching and developing biological and chemical weapons to be used for warfare…

Large companies such as Nestle produce food utilizing machines and fertilizers. This process, in turn, releases carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide, which both contribute to the global warming (“Hidden Costs of Industrial Agriculture”). While carbon dioxide is the primary greenhouse gas, agriculture produces more emissions of nitrous oxide (from fertilizers), and the latter has greater global warming potential than CO2. European food industry accounts for 31% of greenhouse gas emissions (“Eating as an Ecological Act: Environmental Impact of the Food System”). How could we correct such negative impact?…

It goes without saying that change is hard. Regardless of the circumstances, whether positive or negative, it is an instinctual habit of people to generally seek the easiest and laziest way out of a problem. Especially when it comes down to a huge modern day issue like that regarding the consequences of inaction to human-caused climate change, a large majority of people are so inclined to finding an easy solution that they will simply adapt to or even ignore the effects of climate change so that they do not have to deal with the issue themselves. A study published in a 2013 magazine issue of Science found that, over the past 100 years, global warming has proceeded at a rate faster than at any point within the previous 11,300 years (“Is Human…

Perhaps the most vital thing to address is the difference between climate and weather, because so many people don 't know the difference. Weather is what happens on a short time scale--from day to day, while climate is more long term, and is the long term trend over hundreds to thousands of years. We are releasing tons of gases and dust particles into the earth 's atmosphere every day, and so the salient question becomes: What type of effect do these gases have on our atmosphere? Most climate scientists would agree that the earth 's climate is influenced by many different factors, but the most fundamental concept in climate science is that the incoming solar energy is balanced by the outgoing long-wave energy. Disrupting this balance in…
