Charlie, in your second year with the Quality Department I have seen you take initiative in the administrative part of the Quality Administrator job by pick up tasks that were handled by a previous team member, including bay set sheets, inspection data entry and DMR administration. You continue to show that you can effectively support the manufacturing lines working on 2nd shift by responding to the teams when called upon in most cases. To immediately address the areas that have fallen in the Development Needed, you need to continue to focus on two things; “Ability to recognize problems and act” and “Initiative”. You have continued to show your ability to identify a problem, but it seems to continue to stop there. Each evening you continue to provide a recap of the night’s events and clearly identify what issues you were called to investigate, but we still do not always see or hear about an action that you took to control or close out the issue at hand. As the QA of “B” Shift, we are relying on you to initiate action on items and essentially take the lead on items that need to be corrected. If the line needs to shut down because of material issues, do not let them continue to run and sort through material that is known to be bad. The CA mainframe saw is one example of this. Recently the saw was not performing as intended due to bad saw blades. You approved the machine for production and first thing the next morning we shut the saw down to repair due to poor quality. The saw was cutting – 1/16”, leaving burrs on the edges and creating a large gap at one corner. Material issues are another area that you inform us about the problem but don’t always completely close the issue. I would like to see you bring closure to all material issues when
