“Oh my Perry! Have you ever realized how the cell wall is just like the brick walls and the fences in the zoo? The cell wall protects and supports the cell, as the brick walls and the fences, they keep the animals from running away and people that aren't suppose to be there out.” “You know what Phineas? I think your right!! Tell me more.”

2. “Perry, what do you think the cell membrane reminds you of?” Phineas asked Perry. “The cell membrane has the same job as the ticket booth entrance!” Perry said “The cell membrane let's nutrients and waste in and out of the cell, and the ticket booth lets certain things into the zoo, also they control who goes in and out of the zoo. That is how the cell membrane is similar to the ticket

“Phineas can you please explain to me how the chloroplast is like the solar panels and the geodome at the zoo are very similar?”
“Well of course I would. The chloroplast uses sunlight to convert energy to make sugar for the cell. That’s how the solar panels and the geodome work. The solar panels give the energy that produces light. The Desert Dome uses the sun’s energy to keep the desert environment warm during the winter for the desert animals.”
“How do you know all of this?” Perry says in amazement.
“I actually pay attention during class.” Phineas snickered 4. “ Wow Phineas look at the delivery truck. It’s like something in the cell but I can’t think of the name. Help me out.”
“Perry I’m surprised that you didn't know right away that the feed delivery truck was like the endoplasmic reticulum. The feed delivery trucks transports feed and other material from place to place in the zoo.” Phineas said.
“Umm… Phineas aren't you forgetting to tell me how the endoplasmic reticulum works?”
“Oh right, thanks. the endoplasmic reticulum transports materials from one part of the cell to another part.”
“Holy guacamoly! They are like the exact same.” Perry said shockingly.

Oh! That’s like the nuclear membrane in the cell. The nuclear membrane controls what comes in and out of the nucleus.” Phineas says as he knows everything under the sun.

11. “Hehe. Who’s that short, funny looking guy in the suit and tie?”perry asked while laughing.
“He’s the zoo director. He is in charge of all day activities at the zoo. Seriously would it hurt you to read a little?” Phineas said annoyedly.
“Yes, yes it would. anyway how does that relate to the cell?” Said Perry.
“The zoo director is like the nucleus in the cell because the nucleus is the control center of the cell and regulates all activities in the cell.” Phineas said.

12. “What do you think of when someone says mitochondria?” Perry asked
“Well… now that you mention it, I think of the network building. You know since we are right by it let's go take a look. Well, I just had a light bulb strike in my brain! The mitochondria is often referred to as the ‘powerhouse’ of the cell because it keeps the cell. The network building controls all the energy in the zoo, it makes sure that the part that should be on is on.” Phineas explained to Perry who was spacing off.

13. “What’s that cool looking thing over there. And no there is no sign saying what it is.” Perry

Introduction The cell membrane provides a boundary between the intracellular environment and the extracellular environment. The membrane is selectively permeable only allowing some substances to pass through while some can’t. The cell membrane consists of two phospholipid bilayers. Each layer has an electrically charged, hydrophilic head, while the tail is an uncharged hydrophobic.…

These parts are called organelles and every animal cell contains them, like how every living thing contains cells. The nucleus is the main control point of the cell which commands all organelles. The cell membrane is the guard of the cell which is selectively permeable. The cytoplasm surrounds all organelles in the cell and in combination with the cell membrane, provide the cell the structure. The mitochondria provide the cell with power while the vacuoles stores nutrients for the cell.…

The cell provides structure for the body, takes in nutrients from food, convert those nutrients to energy and carries out specialized functions. The cell is composed of many parts, all with different functions. The cell is made up of two major parts which include the nucleus and the cytoplasm.…

Nucleus The Nucleus is an example of a command centre found inside a eukaryotic cell; it’s usually the most prominent organelle, yet it occupies only 10% of the total volume of the cell. If this cell did not have a Nucleus, it would be defined as a prokaryote cell, however if the Nucleus was damaged and not repaired, the cell would simply die. The cell nucleus is enclosed within a double membrane (contains an Inner and Outer Nuclear Membrane) called the Nuclear Envelope, which separates the Chromosomes from the Cytoplasm and allows material to move in and out of the cell.…

When explaining new material to students, educators frequently employ metaphor during their lectures to make new, difficult material simpler and more accessible to the student than it otherwise would be. This teaching technique is logical: metaphors provide the link between immaterial, complex target domains of knowledge and readily understandable source domains that the students have been exposed to in their everyday lives, in order to make the new information comprehensible to the learner. In “Metaphor and Learning,” Hugh Petrie and Rebecca Oshlag assert that metaphors are essential to the learning process: “metaphor, or something much like it, is what renders possible and intelligible the acquisition of new knowledge” (Petrie and Oshlag…
