The principal must ensure that he/she is a responsible leader that engages in professional practice through his/her financial decisions. The leader can promote positive change throughout the school with his/her financial style. As the educational leader, he/she should be open to diversity and innovation, especially with all the new technology that is being offered, and find ways to incorporate this new technology within the budget. The operational expenses could include, but are not limited to: instructional staff, support staff, administration, computers, hardware, software, supplies, books, materials, professional development, transportation, and maintenance. Our school receives an estimated allotment from the district of about $22,000. This allotment is used to pay for the phone bill, upgrades to the internet, any new computers, supplies, and service to the rugs just to name a few. The other operational costs previously listed are taken care of by the district funds. As the educational leader of the school, I must ensure that the fiscal resources of the school are managed responsibly, efficiently, and effectively.
