Marielle connects food to her project by describing how climate change is affecting where the North Atlantic right whales food source is located. This is resulting in the whales having to migrate to the North East coast of Canada and is also drastically lowering the number of whales, causing them to quickly make it onto the endangered species list.
Another project I viewed, which was presented by Raymond, covered genetically modified organisms, or GMOs. In this presentation, Raymond discusses the effect of GMOs on food and people. He explained that GMOs are food with altered DNA, further discussing how big companies have attempted to use them to help bring down food production costs, resulting in lower costs for the consumer. These attempts, so far, have been unsuccessful. Also, he explains that although they have not yet been tested and proven safe for consumption, GMOs are still in most of the food products consumed on a daily
