For my third portfolio, I decided to brainstorm some ideas of what a person can do to restore themselves in under five minutes. The first idea I came up with was to eat a snack. Eating a snack allows for a person to take a break from doing work, and to enjoy the salty or sweet flavor of their favorite treat. While presenting my portfolio, I had snack bags that contained Hershey Kisses, lollypops, and …… available for observers to take home and enjoy, when they need a few minutes to restore themselves. The second idea that I came up with was to create a stress relief ball. This quick and easy task can be done in under 5 minutes, but the stress ball is something someone can use, even while completing their work. Next to my trifold, I provided printed out instructions on how to properly create a stress …show more content…
I printed out numerous designs for people to take home from my presentation, to color when they need a break to restore themselves. The best thing about these coloring sheets is that they do not have to be done all at one time. If someone only has 5 minutes to take a break, then they can always finish coloring their designs at a different time. From participating in brainstorming these ideas, I first learned that there are a lot more ways to be restorative in less than five minutes than I thought. I often just lay down on my phone to take a break from studying because, in the moment I never think of unique ideas such as the ones listed above. These relate to the course because restoration plays a major role in the areas of occupations. In order for someone to be successful when studying, it is important to give the brain a break, and to restore the attention span. When working as an occupational therapist, clients will often come to therapy and be stressed over some type of stressor. It may be something related to their disability, work, school, or various other

The first part of the experiment was determining the resolution of the DAC in volts. Before a voltage was applied the noise was determined by measuring the DC offset, the reading of the DMM at an input of zero volts. This offset was removed from the recorded values in order to provide a more accurate reading of the resolution. These corrected values and their corresponding applied voltages can be found in Table 1 of the appendix. The lowest value recorded from the DMM was -9.968V and the highest value recorded was +9.968V making the range of the DMM about 19.94±0.01V. Using the equation for calculating resolution, the resolution was calculated for values of N from 10 to 18 in increments of 2 (recorded in Table 2).…

Secure Shell (SSH) In this paper, I will discuss the network protocol Secure shell, better known as SSH. Interest in choosing this protocol came from my frequent use of SSH to run applications on the remote servers in Coover Hall. Because of this, I will be exploring the details on how the protocol works, vulnerabilities associated with it and mitigation techniques put in place to counter attacks. SSH is a Cryptographic Network Protocol created to replace Telnet.…

The problem is to ensure that elderly medical patients take their medication and recommended dose at the proper time to ensure that they receive the necessary treatment, and prevent the condition from worsening in the process. To solve this problem, a device will need to be implemented that allows the user to be reminded when to take the medicine, and also be sure that the patient is taking the correct amount of medication. Our first idea was to develop a portable watch device with built in audio and visual cues to remind the patient of their need to take the medication. The device could be programmed ahead of time by a technician, and instruct the user to take the recommended dosage at the correct time.…
