ISSUE
DDS proposed a denial determination. The evidence in file supports a more restrictive RFC, as a result, additional vocational documentation is required.
CASE DISCUSSION & POLICY ANALYSIS (INCLUDING SPECIFIC REFERENCES)
This 57-year old is filing a DIB claim alleging disability due to loss of right eye, COPD, high blood pressure, edema of both legs and feet, back surgery, weight gain, depression, and neuropathy, as of 10/22/2014.
The evidence shows the claimant has a history of morbid obesity with a BMI as high as 46. A lumbar spine MRI taken on 3/26/14 showed degenerative disc disease with multilevel mild spinal stenosis. Neuroforamina was encroaching at L5 nerve root level on the …show more content…
The enucleated right eye support establishing limitation with depth perception to avoid activities requiring normal intact depth perception to avoid activities requiring operating moving vehicles, working at hazardous unprotected heights, i.e. scaffolds, ladders and rope and with hazardous machinery. It may be possible that his description equates to Construction Inspector DOT 182.267-010 L/SVP 6, Gas Leak Inspector DOT 953.367-010 L/SVP 5, or House-piping Inspector DOT 953.367-018 L/SVP 5.
The vocational analysis cannot be completed on this case because additional medical and vocational development is needed. If the claimant cannot be awarded on medical severity alone, additional vocational development is needed.
DI 22515.001B.4 indicates a complete detailed description is needed for each job held during the relevant period in order to complete sequential evaluation. The descriptions should include job titles, dates of employment, hours/days worked, rate of pay, descriptions of duties/work procedures, machines/tools or equipment used, writing done or reports completed, materials handled, supervisory responsibilities, and the exertional demands to carry out these tasks.
