The general model introduced in Fig.4.10 is commonly used to design stable high-order modulators. If a chain of integrators is used to form the loop filter, two main modulators typologies exist [1, 5, 8]:

a cascade of M delaying integrators is used to form the filter, where the feedback and the input signals are being fed to each integrator input with different weight factors a_i and b_i (Fig.4.11).

The transfer function of the signal filter, L_0, is:

while the feedback filter L_1 can be derived as:

where a_i and b_i>0. The NTF results:

Note that the NTF zeros must lie at 푧=1 (i.e. DC). The weight factors a_i can be used to introduce finite non-zero poles into the NTF and to determine the zeros of L_1 (z). The a_i factors can be found

Part B Q1. The normal dose of paracetamol is very safe to use and it is not over 4g per 24 hours; however, when the patient take more than 6g per 24 hours of paracetamol, the liver necrosis will happen within 10 to 12 hours and liver damage may occur within 24 to 48 hours. For the metabolism, most of the paracetamol is converted to nontoxic metabolites by the phase II conjugation of glucuronide and sulfate and a small amount of paracetamol is oxidized by the Cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes in the phase I metabolism. In this phase, CYP1A2 and CYP2E1 enzymes convert paracetamol to N-acetyl-p-benzoquinoneimine (NAPBQI) which is highly toxic substances.…

The first part of the experiment was determining the resolution of the DAC in volts. Before a voltage was applied the noise was determined by measuring the DC offset, the reading of the DMM at an input of zero volts. This offset was removed from the recorded values in order to provide a more accurate reading of the resolution. These corrected values and their corresponding applied voltages can be found in Table 1 of the appendix. The lowest value recorded from the DMM was -9.968V and the highest value recorded was +9.968V making the range of the DMM about 19.94±0.01V. Using the equation for calculating resolution, the resolution was calculated for values of N from 10 to 18 in increments of 2 (recorded in Table 2).…
