The author Cathy Davidson in the book Now You See It highlights learning and attention as two important concepts that require a tremendous transformation in the educational field due to the multiple changes students and educators are facing in this century such as new jobs ´skills, more individualistic learning manners and ineffective testing modes that shape the new epistemological system of education. Oxford dictionary defines learning as “The acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught” and attention as “Notice taken of someone or something; the regarding of someone or something as interesting or important.” These two concepts have been keys on every chapter of the book which basically works in order from when learning and attention were applied ineffectively in a society that was being constructed for a homogeneous mass. However, by facing these problems, the author decides to change the educational system´s reality and challenges the assumptions about the manners of learning in different countries and places.
The book has been of great importance to comprehend how the education has evolved in all academic levels; the progress is being highlighted as a need of a quality learning that prepares students for future works ´skills demanded by the companies.
