As a form of evidence for accountability, iam documenting accurately all the interventions l carry out or any other issues of concern that if it is required, there is evidence to prove that the actions were taken. This is true if drugged to courts of law to provide these evidences. Cooperating with any investigation or audit is another aspect l have received further knowledge and skills.. As a novice nursing student, l had a perception that participating in an investigation and audit proceedings was only a responsibility of registered nurses with managerial or leadership post. It is now to my knowledge that even as a student, l have an obligation to abide by the NMC(2015) code 23 that requires me to declare any issues that could impact on my fitness to practice cooperation in incidences of any forms of investigations or audits. It is also my understanding that openness and honesty are traits for professionalism and when things go wrong, it the duty of of the nurse to report candour accordingly to guidance (Joint statement by NMC (2015) and General Medical Council (GMC). It is also noted that this is a legal duty for all health care providers and bodies to observe ??? as highlighted by the Care Quality Commision (2014) regulations
