Nothing But A Broken Heart Analysis

The title of the piece is called “Nothing but a Broken Heart”. My role in this piece is a guy named Brandon who is the abusive boyfriend of Amy and the brother of Christopher. He is 16 years old and he has shown not to be the kindest boy ever. Both of them was abused by their father who has financial and marriage problems, which causes him to become abusive to both of his sons, Brandon and Christopher, as he punches and pushes them to the ground whenever they do something that he does not like. Throughout the story, the relationship will begin as a healthy and loving one, but as time goes on, the brothers become more and more abusive to their girlfriends and repeat things that the father does: punching and commanding. The story will end with …show more content…
Brandon could care less about Mariah, but would go to the extreme to pull Amy away from her. What I like about this role is how this is something new for me to try out so I could know what it is like to be abusive to someone that I love. I do also have my dislikes though, as I don’t like the idea of being abusive to my significant others, also because I have been abused by my significant other before. I have connected to this role, but at the same time I found it very difficult to connect to this role because this character isn’t who I am to be very honest. This role has connected to me because it helps me interact with other characters I haven’t done before. The biggest challenges I have experienced with this is fitting in the story with the dance routines and terms that we have done, like fitting in ‘attitude’ and other terms that we have done. My greatest accomplishment has to be what I’ve done to commit to this group, as I made up the story and built the story up to match the message of the dance mostly, and this is very important to me because I have lots of trouble trying to interact with other people in group work and giving off my ideas since I think my ideas aren’t as great as anyone else’s in the groups that I have worked

I have chosen to review the Alberta Ballet’s performance of Love Lies Bleeding for my dance production critique. Fortunately, my expectations were surpassed considerably. Love Lies Bleeding was a zestful, dynamic, and alluring theatrical experience unlike no other.…

Love serves at motivation for characters in a vast array of literary works in a variety of settings from the magical forest in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream to the barricades of the French Revolution in Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables. Friends with benefits are relationships where there is a sexual aspect, but the people involved still hold platonic feelings for the other. It is often the case that college students are the ones engaging with friends with benefits because when students leave their homes as well as move into dorms they are free to explore themselves. Through Williams O. Stephens piece, “What’s Love Got to Do with It: Epicureans and Friends with Benefits”, the author explains why college students should not engage in friends with benefits relationships. The author has been through college so he knows that this is a time of liberation for students, but he also acknowledges the freedom to make risky decisions during our college years. Specifically the friends…

It is human nature to create. Humans are programmed to develop new, original ideas. Therefore, creation exposes the human soul. In Never Let Me Go, one’s art “reveal[s] [their] soul” (Ishiguro 175); specifically, Tommy’s drawings of imaginary animals prove that he is creative, thus he is human-like, and cannot be viewed simply as a clone without a soul. I will first discuss how both Kathy’s and Ruth’s reactions when first seeing Tommy’s animals, even though different, show how original the drawings are.…

Have you ever heard a song that has impacted your life? Songs are a form of art that allows artists to express their feelings in a form of music. Songs can be interrupted in many ways; some songs have a more literal meaning, while other songs require you to interpret the lyrics to understand the deeper meaning. Artists often use figurative, metaphorical, and poetic elements in their songs to help develop the overall message. The use of figurative terms in a song leaves the interpretation of the song broad and allows the listener to have their own meaning of the song.…

The song “Same Love” by Macklemore is a very powerful song that has a deeper meaning behind it. The Song “Same Love” had changed my opinions and thoughts about gay rights and homophobia(people who have phobia of gay) within the hip-hop community and the world. Also it want us youth of our society to think in a new direction. Humans in our society believe that the actions and activities that people are involved are either classified as gay or straight. “Same Love” starts off with the lyrics, “When I was in the third grade, I thought that i was gay, because i could draw, my uncle was, and i kept my room straight”.…
