Personal Narrative: My New Diet

Improved Essays
y new diet has been a rather challenging one when I first started out I was under the impression that I could eat whatever I want when I want as long as I work out vigorously. After some much needed research I now know that this is wrong in a number of ways ok for one the total number of calories I intake is always going to be different from the amount of calories that you burn. If my output in my workout does not match the number of calories that I intake then I have just done a number of things. One is that instead of those calories being put to use to later become muscle they will eventually become fat because they aren’t being burned as they should be. So just because I work out like I’m the best athlete doesn’t mean I don’t have to eat …show more content…
What really struck is when he told me that it would eventually slow me down in the game I love the most, football. I can truly say that I do make better food choices on the website I was told that I do not get enough daily intake in several parts of the food pyramid. Now I did get enough grains but It was stated that I was not getting enough whole grains it gave me a list of foods to eat and possible foods to avoid. Rice is the number one thing that toped that list of possible foods that I need to eat to help me with eating the right whole grains and still be a healthy choice. Also one thing that I have had a hard time doing but I have been doing is staying away from fried foods lately I have been eating baked meats such as fish, chicken, and potatoes. Another part of the food pyramid that I have been working on is fruits I love to eat fruit but I was not one to just go out and buy …show more content…
My pasta salad only consists of pasta noodles which are boiled, seasoning, and ranch, or Italian dressing. Also another factor the played into me forming and molding a diet is diabetes. In my family there is a line of diabetes after learning about what diabetes was and how it would affect my body it shook and rocked my world so I vowed to make sure that it would not slow me down. I am one who if im to busy ill forget little tasks. So how would a doctor expect me to remember to stick myself with insulin. My score was pretty even in being at risk so my personnel trainer told me it would imperative to my health because I was at risk for developing diabetes because of recent or immediate family health. My father had shown signs but the doctors did not have enough to diagnose him with diabetes. Something that I should try to incorporate in my everyday life is vitamins but I would have a hard time doing this because some have side effects that are just terrible I am one who does not believe in taking vitamins or trying to take any supplements because just say you run out of money or are low on funds the funds you used to but those supplements or

3 Day Food Intake It was a little hard to plan a menu for the week. But I am glad I did it, I felt like I had a lot more energy throughout the week. I incorporated more fruits and vegetables as well as more dairy products. I especially enjoyed the meal planning, it made my trip to the grocery store a lot less hectic. And although it took a little bit of time to do some of the food prep, it helped cut down on actual cooking time for the meals.…

In the future I will adjust my diet by eating the appropriate nutrients for my body to function. In this, I will need to eat more fruits, because my results were not good in that category. I can add some whole fruits as a snack, rather than eating potato chips. My dairy category was not up to par, either. I must admit I do not drink milk, unless it is with cereal.…

My Diet Analysis In the reports of "Actual Intakes Vs Recommended Intakes" and "Calorie Assessment", many the amount of nutrients I consumed did not reach 80 to 110 percent of the recommended level of nutrients intake. However, I set a goal that was losing one pound per week, and my calories intake reached that the recommended amount of calories intake. For example, my current weight is 138 pound; my intake of calories was 1,505.32, but the recommended intake of calories was 1,518.90 if I want to lose weight. Due to this, I realized that I should reduce to amount of foods that contain high fat, protein, and carbohydrates, but I should still need to consume the food like vegetables, fruit, and others. Earlier this year in January, I decided to start my weight loss journey. I managed to get rid of thirty-seven pounds throughout a period of six months. Along with a massive change of physical appearance, this journey also generated a lot of mixed responses from my family and friends. This giant wave of fluctuating comments got me thinking: what is the difference between looking healthy and looking good?…

Eating Healthy Last week when I went to the grocery store, I found that the price of food was a little bit on the expensive side. As I walked through the aisles of the store I heard a voice behind me saying that trying to eat healthy is like a luxury, you know like getting your hair done. You do not need it, but you want it. We both chuckled and parted ways. Then, I started thinking that if I really wanted to eat healthy then it is worth paying the price.…
