Not-For-Profit Organizations There are various forms of businesses and one form is a not-for-profit organization. A not-for-profit organization functions similar to a standard business but provides products and/or services to better a community without making a profit. These organizations do generate revenue, but through means of funding the organization. The profit that is generated within the organization is not used for personal gain or for a single individual, it is used to benefit the community and the cause being supported. Therefore, the revenue a not-for-profit organization accumulates is not distributed as income to the organization’s directors. A not-for-profit organization can fund the organization in various ways depending on the eligibility.

The money raised is given back to the community in terms of services to provide a better living environment.
