One of the main connections the religions have with one another in connection with the Ninian Smart Model is that we all have a supreme being who is worshipped (God/ Allah/ Yahweh/ Brahman/ Buddha). The supreme being is who the followers do everything for, have in mind when living their day to day lives, who followers turn towards when needing guidance and who they wish to reunite with in the afterlife. All religions are also in agreement with having sacred stories. Most religions studied in the course have the sacred stories written down in the form of a Holy Book although some religions pass their stories down orally. However, in having a Holy book the words told in scriptures can not be easily changed. Having sacred stories are important to all religions since they are used to tell stories about their history, their supreme being and all that you should follow to live a good life. Lastly, religions each have their own morals and ethics. It is believed in most faiths that completing those morals and ethics will bring you a step closer to reaching heaven and reuniting with God. For example, in comparing Hinduism and Islam, if you have good dharma and karma you move to Samsara and Moksha which leads you to Atman and then Atman reunites you with Brahman. Islam and Hinduism Before we start with the description of Islam and Hinduism we need to understand what its religion, or at least try to comprehend the meaning of religion. The definition of religion is very difficult, many have try but they focus on only the few aspects of religion, some will exclude beliefs, practices and those religions that will not fit well. To limit religion to only one of these categories is to miss its multifaceted nature and lose out on the complete definition.” The two religion that I choose to investigate are the Hinduism and Islam because Hinduism and Islam are the third and second most popular religion around the world.…

During this time, most people, excluding the more elite citizens, were illiterate. Because of this, lower class citizens relied on educated people to read documents to them. To have a stronger connection with the citizens, the theologians had to take in account their perspective citizens and attend to their needs. Due to the fact that practicing a religion was common tradition, they used biblical evidence to support their claims of the corruption within the Church, mainly concerning the Pope. For example, when the theologians stated their belief that “the chief members of the Church, kings and princes, ought to guard the interests of the Church” they supported it with scripture found in Psalms (“Of the Power and Primacy of the Pope” 3).…

With my understanding, during the time of the development of the early church, from the ascension of Christ and the opening of his ministry there, there was an action of “Unity and Diversity” according to our text. There was a conflict with two groups of Jews, which were called “Hebrews”; and those who retained the customs and language of their ancestors, which was the covenant keeper of the law of Moses. And the second group of people who were more open to Hellenistic (Greek) influences. The first group is called “Hebrews,” and the second group is the “Hellenists” (Gonzalez, J. L., 2010, digital). The death of religion in America is not one that should be mourned rather it should be celebrated as a transition to a potentially less polarized country. This death was not orchestrated against religion, but rather, the death of religion is simply a product of its own existence. Religion brought the country together in 1776, in 2001, and many times in between, churches have provided irreplaceable central hubs for human rights conversations, demonstrations, and celebrations. However it has also brought about turmoil and conflict when discussing ideas like gay rights, gay marriage, climate change, and abortion. It has been used as a rhetorical weapon to initiate and justify wars and genocides throughout history; and while one may argue that it is the men who have corrupted the idea of religion into the one seen today, it has been shown by men like Bush and Trump…
