Norwalk infection, otherwise called winter retching infection, is an infection named after Norwalk, Ohio, in the United States, where a flare-up of intense viral gastroenteritis happened among kids at Bronson Elementary School in November 1968.
Infections are ordered into family, class, and species by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV), and Norwalk infection is the main types of the variety Norovirus, which has a place with the family Caliciviridae. Some time ago, Norwalk infection was incorporated into the family "Norwalk-like infection" somewhere around 1999 and 2002,and the "Norwalk-like infection" was supplanted with Norovirus on the eighth Report of the ICTV in light of the endorsement of the new name of Norovirus
