Northwestern: The Greatest Ideal Education

Improved Essays
To me, Northwestern is the greatest opportunity I have of obtaining a phenomenal education while still maintaining close ties to the adoptive city that I call home. During my freshman year of high school, my personal health teacher told me that her experience at Northwestern was the greatest that she ever had. After hearing her words and doing research for myself, Northwestern sounded unreal to me. I had to see these dream for myself, and as soon as I saw campus, I knew that one day I had to call Northwestern home. The academic rigor of the school only drew me further because I absolutely love a challenging environment, and every subsequent visit to campus only helped solidify my love for Northwestern even more. My journey first began when I decided to attend The University of Iowa in the fall of 2013 after graduating from Urbandale High School. I attended Iowa for 2 years and then when it came time to choose where I would apply to nursing school at I was stuck between wanting to continue on at Iowa’s College of Nursing, pending on my acceptance, but also needing a change in my life. I decided to choose change and Mercy College of Health Sciences presented an opportunity for just that. There is a program offered at Mercy College of Health Sciences (MCOHS) that was too good for me to pass up. My current focus has been on achieving my BSN and the program I had heard about was fairly new but provided an opportunity for me to get my BSN while doing it in only 2 short years.…

    1. Why did you choose UNH? I choose UNH because of the progressive and productive atmosphere. UNH was one the few schools when looking at potential colleges that seemed to know exactly what it was doing, utilize contemporary methods of teaching and campus structure, and actively looked to aid in the success of its students wherever possible. 2.…

I chose to attend Wor-Wic Community College because of the support system that Wor-Wic has to offer. I applied to the school and attended it while I was injured with a traumatic knee injury and the staff really proved to me that they cared. I had surgery the first week of classes,so I emailed my teacher and they were all understanding and extremely helpful in accommodating to my needs. The late computer lab hours really helped me to be able to get my school work done after my night classes ended. Everywhere that I go I advocate for Wor-Wic because it is truly more than an institution, it is like another family to me.…

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to attend North Dakota State University. My dad and sister are NDSU alumni, so furthering my education where they did provides us with a unique bond. Additionally, not many of my relatives attended college, allowing me to see the difficulties in providing for oneself and family without a college degree. Although I know the next seven years are going to be challenging, extremely strenuous, and will push me to the edge of my comfort zone, the satisfaction of administering medical services to those who need them will make it worthwhile. Not only will I be able to care for others with a Pharm.…

Before addressing why Pitt is a good choice for me, I would like to review why I am a good choice for Pitt. The University of Pittsburgh values their “talented, diverse and high achieving students”, their “safe and healthy campuses”, their unique balance of “fun and camaraderie with internships and other learning opportunities outside the classroom”, and their focus on “developing students into global citizens” (University of Pittsburgh webpage, ‘Prospective Students’). I am a well-rounded student who places priority upon academics, as well as a broad array of performing arts extracurricular activities, over 300 hours of community service, several job experiences and religious organizations. Therefore, if admitted to The University of Pittsburgh, I would fit right in with the ardent and accomplished student body, just as I would benefit as a person and as…

I can say with confidence that I should be considered for a nomination for The United States Air Force Academy. I know that I would make an ideal cadet and I’ll tell you why. There are many reasons why I would like to go to the University of Chicago, but I’d like to start off with the academic aspect of the university. While not specifically a Liberal Arts college, it seems to me that “The Core” is very akin to a Liberal Arts curriculum in the sense that it forces you to expand yourself into different disciplines. I am a big believer in learning about everything because, as I have found, everything is interconnected. With “The Core” curriculum at the University of Chicago, that message of nondiscriminatory learning is clearly emphasized and I know that I will grow as both a person and a student in that kind of an environment. Once I complete “The Core” curriculum, I will be able to focus more on my major working with world-renown faculty solving the world’s problems one step at a time.…

I knew I wanted a place where I could expand my horizons, meet new people, and leave with a better understanding of the world and its cultures. I am very interested in studying abroad, and the University of Toledo has wonderful programs for this. Most recently, the campus had International Week which was very fun and interesting.…

My perspectives and life completely changed when I was accepted into Bioscience High School. Being admitted was a huge achievement because the application and interview process was rigorous. One of the requirements for the application was to create a binder portfolio that would represent my worth ethic and what I could offer to the school. Now, I have experienced what it is like to be part of the Bioscience community. At first, the teaching methods and their curriculum was difficult to adjust to because their constructivist ways of teaching was different from the traditional way of education I had been in all of my life.…
