This summer I completed an internship for Northwest Diversified Machining, they create aerospace parts. The shop is run by a Navy Veteran. My supervisor was a very old fashioned man who didn’t share my same view point on the company but he was willing to work with me to see what I was trying to accomplish. Together we worked side by side with mutual goals of improving the company. My supervisors goal was to have me come up with a more efficient way to know what parts are in, worked on, and out of the shop. My goal for the company was to help improve their online presence so that their goal of reaching more customers could be met. The goal that I set for myself was that I wanted to expand my knowledge and gain value skills that would help me …show more content…
I figured that this would be an good goal to start with because they had no social media presence at the time I started working with the company. I broke this goal down into phase 1, the easier social media platforms and phase 2, the platforms to get onto. During my first week there to achieve this phase 1 of my goal I began on my mission of creating a Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and Yelp page for them. After completing phase 1 I began on phase 2, which I found more difficult. During phase 2 I was to contrast a website, something I had never done before so this task was very hard for me. Before creating the website I had to look up how to create one and what the best and easiest one to use was on Google and YouTube. After researching on Google and YouTube on what site builder was the best and easiest, I began to work on the …show more content…
I had a lot of issues with this phase in particular because when filming the video and the site. The issues with the video that I had dealt with not being able to send it the way I wanted to send it because the file was too. The issues that I faced with the site were that it took me awhile to figure out how to work the site and then I had issues with the website telling me the site I had created wasn’t registered correctly. After a few call tech support and a couple YouTube videos later I figured out how to fix the issue I was having. After that, other issues that came up with the website such as, that it was not loading pictures correctly or editing the text that I put onto the site. After some YouTube video later on the general tools of the site I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was not saving it I was just exiting out of the

The internship I embarked on this past semester was at my place of employment, Central Grocers, Inc., located in Joliet, Illinois. Central Grocers is structured as a retail cooperative, owned by the independent supermarket retailers that Central Grocers supplies. It is the seventh largest grocery cooperative in America and supplies over 20,000 products to more than 500 independent supermarket stores in the Midwest, meaning they have the second largest market share in the Chicago area market. In terms of the company’s performance, it made 1,944 and 1,483 million dollars in sales in consolidated and wholesale operations, respectively, in its 2015 fiscal year. This is a decrease from the 1,966 and 1,500 million dollars it made in 2014.…

As far my clinical site, Salvation Army is a six month (compulsory live-in) alcohol and drug treatment facility, providing for men and women age 21 to 60. As far as fears, being in a room with a client alone, and assessing the client using the ASI, it's a little overwhelming. Furthermore, how to motivate the client in finding novel ways to manage their feelings, control impulses, work toward concrete goals for recovery; alone with confronting manipulation, teaching a relapse prevention course and maintaining my case load are further concerns.…

ACES Career Fair Reflection I was amazed as I walked into the ACES Career Fair. I knew there would be a lot of businesses at this event, but I was not able to quantify just how many until I walked around. Since I grew up on a grain farm, I have been familiar with many of these companies surrounding me, such as John Deere, AgriGold, and Pioneer. However, before the career fair, I still researched what companies would be present on Handshake, and I formulated a plan to speak with AgriGold, DuPont Pioneer, Growmark, and Farm Business Farm Management (FBFM). Once I made this decision, I wrote down the tasks associated each internship position a company offered.…

It is painfully obvious that FlexMed has had an impact on my educational plan in college. At first, I had intentions of studying History and Computer Science. Now, I am a declared Spanish major and am declaring a major in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. The only reason this has been possible is the flexibility afforded by FlexMed. It began when my five best friends from my dorm hall decided that they wanted to live together off-campus sophomore year.…

My Personal Goal Statement Every day I wake up, I ask myself how I can make a difference. This question has helped shape my personal values and principles and directed my path into the nursing field. Growing up in West Africa and witnessing firsthand the sufferings and impoverishment of the people around me, I developed a sense of compassion and willingness to make a difference and help alleviate their sufferings and put a smile on their faces. Healthcare delivery and poverty are two major underlying factors in the challenges faced in Africa, thus, when I got an opportunity to come into the United States, it was my golden ticket to finally give back to the community and make a difference. This led me into the nursing field; I started out as a Certified Nurse Assistant.…

During this opportunity to do this internship, I am taking experience of the things I do right but also the things that I have done wrong. I should not feel bad if I make a mistake because with the things that I do wrong I am going to try to not make the same mistake on the workforce.…

In simulation this week, I was effective in remembering the majority of the steps for the head to toe (I always seem to forget orientation and capillary refill). I quickly realized at the end if I had left out any steps and by the end of simulation I felt much more confident in completing a head to toe exam. I also did a good job of noticing what my peers missed during their head to toe exam.…

I truly believe that our nation has definitely made progress in the area of racial injustice. One aspect that clearly demonstrates my belief is the fact that segregation and restrictions no longer exist in public. For example, our schools, workplaces, hospitals, basically any functional facility, is freely open for anyone of any race to use and we can all sit together in one room; this is something that never happened in the past and was a critical issue for the longest time. For me to look around my classroom and to see my classmates, as well as myself, sit beside each other in a peaceful manner makes me grateful that we have reached that state as a society. Along with that idea, in general, I believe people of today are more respectful and understanding of cultural differences than in the past.…
