The Northeast Emergency Food Program (NEFP) is a vital part of the community ministry network of the Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon (EMO). They meet the urgent food need of the north and northeast Portland neighbors, primarily people living in east Portland. However, they don’t have any geographic boundaries, meaning that they are helping people from all over the world. Each month, they provide services to over 800 families by offering nourishment in the form of welcoming space and full basket of food as well as providing community, job resources, access to gardening materials, community dinners, and more.
