North Korea has one of the most detrimental human rights in the world. The citizens in North Korea are stripped of all of their rights. Everyday rights that americans take for granted, such as freedom of speech, work, worship, expression and movement, are outlawed. In fact, when Freedom House ranked all of the countries based on their human rights, North Korea was ranked dead last. North Korea received a “7” on their freedom, with one being the best and seven being the worst (1). North Korea is able to rule without oppression because of their one party totalitarian government and the lack of people’s rights. Also because North Korea is isolated and emigration is banned, citizens of North Korea do not know how unjust their government is (2).
