North Korea is a country that the U.S. has been at odds with for decades. Today, with North Korea’s recent nuclear tests and threats against the U.S. and its allies, and President Trump’s intolerance for North Korea; the conflict between the two nations has escalated to precarious levels. Many claiming the world is on the brink of WWIII and nuclear warfare. In the U.S.’ position, what should they do under this situation? The answer to this question is to declare war on North Korea. Engaging in war with North Korea will remove a worldwide threat, improve relations with Japan and South Korea, and boost President Trump’s public image. Rosenberger’s assertion highlights how the U.S. maintaining a strong alliance with Japan and South Korea is important in dealing with North Korea and their ally, China. Therefore proving why it is the correct decision for the U.S. to engage North Korea. If the U.S. takes down North Korea with Japan and South Korea, they will be more favorable towards the U.S. in return and help in affairs with countries that are enemies of the U.S. such as China. However, like Rosenberger also reports in her article, Japan may be reluctant to aid the U.S. because of its president, Donald J. Trump. President Trump is one of the U.S.’ most controversial presidents in history, with many around the world questioning his presidency. Shall President Trump declare war on North Korea however, many will see that he is not a joke. President Trump can make the right decision by stopping North Korea from committing any atrocities to the world, and any more to its people.
