STRENGTHS
As with most companies The North Face’s biggest strength is being a subsidiary of VF Corporation, having a parent company this large will allow The North Face access to materials, technologies, and internal processed that smaller competitors don’t have available. Even with the various brands under the VF Corporation name, The North Face is its largest outdoor and action sports brand (SlideShare as cited MarketLine, 2011). Another major strength of The North Face would be their supply chains, they utilize national accounts such as SportChek, Sporting Life, and Atmosphere along with have smaller local shops.

Another key strength for The North Face is their brand recognition, as you spend time in outdoor activities you would be hard pressed to not find multiple people proudly displaying The North Face logo throughout most of the world. The North Face is widely recognized for the quality of their products designed to provide high performance and comfort even under the most extreme conditions (SlideShare). With most of the products produced by The North Face catering to the outdoor market and action sports this geographically limited their target market to colder climates. “In relation to the labor force, The North Face itself identifies low employee morale and a lack of high opinion of management” (StudyLib, 2017 as cited in SlideShare).
