North Face Film Analysis

The movie North Face is about the a group of two climbers Toni and Andi trying to be the first one who climb up North Face. Hitler will hand a golden metal to the first one who climb up the North Face, therefore, Toni, Andi and two Australians (Willi ＆ Edi) decide to climb up the North Face. In the beginning of the climbing they are competitors. However, as the time passes on they decide to climb together because Willi get injured with his leg when he haunt during the climb and there is a storm going on when they were climbing. This events is happened at switzerland during 1936. This movie is based on a real historical events. During the movie, when the bodies of Andi, Edi, and Willi were found they were all roped together, Toni is the only one who survived at that moment. I strongly agree with what did Andi does at that moment. He sacrificed his life to save his best friend Toni by cutting the rope. At that moment, Andi is tied with Toni and Willi and the rope is about to pull all of them down because the piton stars come out of the rock. It is a really hard decision to make at that point. That is a really moral decision to make. If he did not cut the rope. All of them will die immediately. This real event is really similar to two situations that the justice class learned in the beginning of the year. There is possibility for him to survive if he did not cut the rope. However, even if Andi could possibly live, I still strongly suggest that it is a morally correct thing for Andi to cut the rope. Since the piton is starts to coming out of the rock, it is more likely that all of them will fall down the mountain. Overall, the movie is really good. Even though it is a tragedy ending, I still like this
