This painting/poster was created by Normal Rockwell in 1943 using oil paints. The painting consists of four small paintings, them being;
- Freedom of Speech
- Freedom of Worship
- Freedom from Want
- Freedom from Fear
This painting refers to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s speech that he did in January 1941, two years earlier, which he then figured out that they were important human rights that should be universally protected. The theme was into something called the ‘Atlantic Charter’, which then slowly became a part of the charter of the UN (United Nations).
