I enjoyed reading your post. Why do you feel it relevant to use the quote you chose in regards to operating outside the normal boundaries of the military. What are the normal boundaries of the military, every branch has communities within communities that all have different expectations of what they expect their personnel to do. All have politics but they are all different in many ways and yet the same. Personally this has in a way affected me in my military career I am from a very technical portion from the navy, and following direct orders and a procedure doing maintenance a Senior Chief and myself a First Class Petty Officer were sent to non-judicial punishment.
