Using the noredink app with these added features will strengthen students’ grammar and writing skills. The Cognitive Perspective (Trace Theory) indicates that using repetition and forming “maps” for the mind makes learning last. The Gestalt Learning – Factor of Similarity also shows that “similar ideas are treated and linked together and then contrasted with another set of ideas.” The repetitive nature of noredink and adding the color-coding option will support these two learning theories.
Social Constructivism or social learning is another theory that supports the teamwork and competitive features of the app. This theory states that “classroom activity should be reality-based and applicable to the real world.” Noredink already addresses this learning factor is including student interests.
