Norbert Michel observes how a program in Louisiana has resulted in taxpayers paying for students education (n.pag.). Louisiana has come in contact with a problem while using this program, free college is not actually free (Michel n.pag.). Whether it is the student, parents, or government someone has to pay for college tuition (Michel n.pag.). Michel supports his argument by stating that “the core problem is that they remove the paying customer, in this case the student, from the equation” (n.pag.). The student’s tuition and fees are pushed to the government, however the government does not pay these expenses (Michel n.pag.).
