A “loving” hardworking husband, beautiful children, but there was more to it than that. Throughout the scenes a reader would find that Nora white told a nice number of white lies, but to protect her husband and children. In one instance she lied to her husband and kids claiming that she was creating ornaments and christmas gifts for the house, but was really selling them to pay off the loan that she used to pay off her husbands debt from him being very ill. The fact that Nora feels a need to lie about a dept that saved her husband 's life shows how very little her husband respects her notions and clarifications that she comes up with for life 's struggles. Another instance where Nora used her harmless lies was when Torvald asked her if she was eating macaroons and she lied and said no. Not only because he hates when she eats sweets but because she still wanted to show her dignity. Nora wanted Torvald to know that she was not a child like he thought of her as, but his wife and the mother of his children. She wanted the little bit of respect that Torvald gave to her and the only way to attain that would be to lie to him and remain submissive to him.Throughout the play Nora seems to be blinded by that “love” she had for her husband that forgets her own self worth worth and stays not because she thought she content with her life, but she wanted her husband and
