They kept the family system intact and continued their farming practise. The Noongar people were employed by the settlers as farm labours.
First law to control Noongar-
The Rottnest Island act was one of the very first acts passed which had a deep impact and meddling in the life of Noongar people. The offenders in the eyes of settlers were sent as prisoners . Prisoners from age eight to seventy were all kept in one place.
Other laws and encroachment on Noongar Life-
The Noongar people had a curfew which demanded them to vacate the town before 6 in evening. Other laws prevented mingling of Noongar and the settlers to avoid the population of Noongar people going up as the settlers considered it to be a threat.
Children Separation-
The settlers went as far as to take the children of Noongar family away from their family and place them in different institutes. The children were then trained to be domestic help and farm labourers.
Outsiders on own land during Depression-
The Noongar people were forced to leave their own land. The Great depression was worst period when they had no jobs and ration.
Breed out the
