Unfortunately, the exact cause of Asperger 's has still yet to be discovered (1). Scientist, psychologists, and an array of other professional researchers have agreed that it is related to autism and that the cause is a defect in the neurological connections within the brain. Cases of Asperger 's also show cases of Rett syndrome, childhood disintegrative disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (usually referred to as PDD-NOS) (1). Asperger 's has inhabited the high functioning section of the autism spectrum. This means that unlike those on the low functioning end, people with Asperger’s have been known to be extremely smart, especially in the topic they obsess in, extensive in vocabulary and random facts, held great memories, and extremely well versed when pen was put to paper. Many with Asperger’s have easily situated themselves in with groups or jobs that focus on their obsession and became rather successful. Such people often attributed their success to and have taken pride in their disorder. Still, as was earlier stated people with Asperger 's also face symptoms that have hurt their ability to have a healthy life and so a number of treatments have been put in place to help people control their disorder.
