Importance Of Nonverbal Communication In Visual Chat Rooms

Nonverbal communication is more important in understanding human behavior than words. Nonverbal communication is the way we communicate without using words. Its our facial expressions, body postures, eye contacts and touch. We can express much without using words. Now days most of the people are starting using social media and chat rooms as well more than the past. In this paper I will be talking about how nonverbal communication plays a role in visual chat rooms. First of all, which of the three functions (expressing meaning, modifying verbal, regulating) do nonverbal serve in this environment “the visual chat rooms”? Since I have been experiencing in these chat rooms for almost nine days I found that expressing meaning is serving more in chat room communication. For expressing meaning it is particularly expressed from nonverbal communication where in real life your body and your language can tell more about what do you mean and what do you feel, but in visual chat rooms it is easy to express what do you mean through a message and you can say what ever you want and what ever emotion do you have. For me I prefer to say whatever I want by a message or chat rooms more than talking personally. your verbal? Was this effective? Why or why not?. For me yes I used gestures to complement, accent, repeat, contradict, and Substitute. For complement I use it when I have a message that needs to use my verbal and nonverbal to do this message. For accent, when I want to emphasize something that my voice does not send it completely. Repeat, when my verbal and non verbal are saying the same thing and this one is the most useful one. For me I used these a lot when I have a conversation with people even when I am talking to the phone and also sometimes when I am
