I was on the second floor in the Johnson Center, located in the center of the George Mason University campus. I was sitting at a table on the far right side of the building doing my history homework, when I heard a very loud male saying “I do not understand why people think it is a huge deal to smoke on campus. Nothing is going to happen to the nonsmoker if all they do is pass by!” It took so much for me to stay quiet and mind my own business when he made this comment, because smoking around nonsmokers is in fact secondhand smoking, and they are affected by it; even if they are just passing by it. Not to mention, an average George Mason student passes by more than five cigarette smokers.

Everyday there are many people that smoke cigarettes

I support the Pit Bull Movement to aid in rescue and to educate people about these dogs and how loving they can be. The news and media have made these dogs look like beasts of terror when it was most likely the result of poor ownership. I want to share my story of how I came face to face with said beasts and all I got was a mountain of kisses, never ending love, and constant companionship. I grew up in a house where moving was a constant and the thought of having a dog was forbidden. My father never had animals growing up – this is where the forbidden part came from.…
