Non Traditional College Student

What is the best definition of a college student? Some people might respond that it is a high school graduate living and taking classes at an institution of higher learning, possibly even a prestigious university. Someone might mutter that it is a person trying to complete a degree while working full time. Another might add that college students could be taking day or evening classes or internet classes and working part-time to help offset expenses. Well, all of those answers would be partially correct. A college student is all of the above and sometimes more. A college student can be a teen straight out of high school who attends an institution of higher learning, full time, part-time, via the internet, who lives on or off campus or commutes or he/she can be any age and be in the majority of students, the non-traditional student, and be anyone else. …show more content…
Whether traditional or non-traditional, a large percentage of college students are pursuing a full time course load and are trying to get an education so that they can get a position in a good profession and/or a high paying job. Many work full time and pursue an education part-time, and many work part-time while in school full time. Many college students never set foot inside a classroom and receive their entire education via a computer, or they may only take a few courses on the computer.
