Non-profit organizations attempt to combat massive social issues. Major issues, require major funding. Lack of funding can create issues, as can, funding primarily received from private donors. Dr. Goriudappa Venkataswamy, founder of the Aravind hospital, which has global domination in provider of cataract surgery, is self-sufficient.
