Non-Coding In Malat1

The objective of the first problem summary assignment was to compose an essay illustrating the impact of non-coding on gene expression, utilize primary articles to discuss the role of specific non-coding RNA molecules in the transcriptome, and examine the implications of current study on future research. In order to accomplish this, I analyzed and summarized the primary research article by Chen et al., which discussed the role of Malat1 in cellular proliferation and differentiation. Once I developed a general understanding of the purpose, methods, and results of the article I began looking for other papers to supplement the primary source and provide me with a better understanding of the context of the paper. In order to address this challenge I read several other research articles to develop an understanding of the methods and design of each experiment. By reading and summarizing various laboratory techniques I was better able to understand the results and conclusions of primary articles. Additionally, another challenge I encountered when completing the assignment was addressing each of the learning objetcives outlined in the assignment description in the required page length. After writing my first draft of the assignment, my paper was quite a bit over the page limit. To address this issue, I read through several more research articles to deepen my understanding of specific topics in order to synthesize a more concise paper. To improve the quality of my assignment for next time I will book an appointment with a member of the writing support team at the University to receive a second opinion on my writing. Booking this appointment would allow me to clarify my writing and ensure it is properly
