Non Christian Judgement

Christians. We often get a bad rep in society. We are often seen as conservative-bible thumping- freaks, hardcore President trump supporters, homophobias, and over-the-top judgemental people. Christians. We are just as sinful as the non-Christians standing in front of us at the food court line at Costco. Since, Adam and Eve sinned, that sin has been passed down over millions of generations. Because of the sin committed by our ancestors, people only see what is right in their own eyes. People insist there are no moral absolutes and only each individual decides what is “right” and “wrong” for their lifestyles. It is the non-Christians in this world who decide that we should “tolerate” people for their own sinful activities, meaning that we should offer no support in what is more morally substantial. For example, if a person is obsessed with money and nothing else in life we should simply let them be. The …show more content…
In order to have better judgement, we need to look to Christ. In Matthew 10:16, Jesus says we should, “ be shrewd as snakes and innocent as doves.” Jesus said this to His disciples when they were preparing for persecution. The opposition of the Pharisees would be “like ravaging wolves”(mentioned at the beginning of Matt 10:16). The disciples only hope would be to rely on their shepherd for protection. In this world, we also face the wrath from this world. Like the disciples, we shouldn’t be bombarded by our sheeplike attitude. We need to be sensible and prudent. We are not to be gullible fishes snatching the bait and we cannot be deceitful fishermen. We have to find a balance between wisdom and vulnerability; good

At face value, the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight tells of a knight who is challenged by a Green Knight to show the decline in the knighthood, but that is only the literal interpretation. Throughout the story, there are many parallels to the Christian faith seen. The Green Knight places the young knight in a trial just like God might do to Christians. The Green Knight mentions that if Gawain seeks him, then he will be found which is very similar to when Christ says that if we seek, we shall find. The motif of the number three as seen in the Bible for example Peter denying Christ three times and Christ rising after the third day is seen, as well.…

Don’t judge a book by its cover! I like to repeat this saying in my head when I catch myself judging others too often. While reading this article, I thought of this saying again. The author of this article, John Kavanaugh, wrote how one should only leave judging up to God or in other words there comes a time and a place for judgment. There are all different types of judgments; good, bad, sound, or reasoned.…

A Lesson entitled Godly Decisions from Daniel Chapter 1: This is a well-known topic in the book of Daniel. It is notable that the start of the book tells us about Daniel’s decision not to dishonor himself. His three associates appear to have complied with his example. Daniel and his three associates stand out from the crowd because even though they lived with heathen people they did not endanger their walk with God, while most of the others willingly or deliberately conformed to ways the of the world.…

It is true that the church has changed throughout the decades. However, in today’s postmodern culture, the church has appeared to make drastic changes to its congregation, ministry, and services. “Morality cannot be legislated, but behavior can be regulated. Judicial decrees may not change the heart, but they can restrain the heartless” (Martin Luther King Jr.). This quote by King describes how morality cannot ultimately be dictated by laws, but behavior can be. True morality comes from the heart and laws won’t cause someone have a morality change. Moral behavior is very often influenced by both religion and laws in the way that religion can make people think they may be punished in the afterlife for certain actions, laws, and both religion and laws have things that are prohibited that really aren’t “wrong”.…

History – I think one of the major issues facing Christianity today is the lack of people who put Christian practices into work. Many of the younger Christians don’t seem to take Christianity seriously. They can listen to its teachings, but when the time comes, they rarely put those teachings into practice. I’m sure it’s because that they believe that God plays no active role in their lives. There are also people who take their beliefs in Christianity too far by endangering or slandering people who disagree with Christian beliefs.…

You think that if someone acts bad you have the “holy right” to judge them. Wait, but is that not what you are judging them for? Sometimes actions and looks are based on past experiences.
