The Nolan Brothers have done an excellent job in creating a film and a short story with the same idea. Both the film and the short story are very interesting, even though confusing at times. They are also very intriguing, because they draw their audience in, and leaving them wanting more. The Story of Chris McCandless: How to View His Story Every single person has a story, and the way it is told is even more unique than the story itself. Prior to Jon Krakauer’s publishment of Into the Wild in 1996, no one knew of Chris McCandless’s hitchhiking travels after he finished college and shut out his family. His motives and thoughts as he traveled from southern California to the wilderness of Alaska will forever be unknown, but Krakauer worked tirelessly to bring Chris’s story to life through words. Sean Penn attempted this same task in 2007, by transforming the book into a movie, bringing the story to life visually and with a soundtrack While both sought to tell the story of Chris McCandless, they both approached their tasks with differing purposes.…

I think that the movie is better than the book because the movie has more light and there is music. And the book does not have light or music you have to make a picture in your mind. They are alike because they both say the same things. In La Jetee, my interpretation of watching the film was a young man traveling in time as an experiment. Although as I continue watching, there are details within the film such as the background sounds, transitions of photos, and the still photos that give a deeper meaning than of a Sci-fi movie shown this year. In this essay, I will explain how La Jetee uses transitions as well as background sounds to emphasize the still images meaning of time and reality. As I sat and watched this movie for the second time in my life, I could view it a little differently than I had before. The first time I watched this, I was with my roommate who absolutely loves this movie. She talked about how amazing it was and finally I gave in and I said, “Let’s watch it.” I watched it like I would watch any new movie, paying attention to the story, not knowing there was a real science behind it.
