“The world is too much with us” was written by William Wordsworth. The theme of Wordsworth’s poem is society being more focused making and spending money in factories that are polluting the air than enjoying nature: “Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers: / Little we see in nature that is ours:”( 2-3). “A Noiseless Patient Spider” was written by Walt Whitman. The theme of Whitman poem is to show the loneliness of human life and how hopeless it may seem to be: “Surrounded, detached, in measureless oceans of space, / Ceaselessly musing, venturing, throwing, seeking the spheres/ to connect them,” (4-8).
