This comes as a shock for many people because most of the people see Noirtier as insufficient. For majority of people, they feel that Noirtier has been put in an unfortunate situation; this leads for many to have sympathy towards him. This is when Noirtier interposed, he found a way for the two lovebirds to be together. The Count of Monte Cristo and Noirtier are very similar they both intervene in others’ lives. The difference is that Noirtier does it out of love, and the Count does it for vengeance. Noirtier shows characteristics of a loving neighbor and the Count is like a politician. They both want to help but they do it for different motives and results are usually drastically different. The neighbor does good while the politician does a lot of talking and little action. Noirtier will do and act in his power to avail those he loves.
