No Shave November Persuasive Essay

Decent Essays
To many, male or female, No Shave November is a national holiday. What we don’t ask, is why is this? and when did it start? Although to us No Shave November is a laughing matter, originally it was an effort by thirty men in Australia in 2004 to raise awareness for prostate cancer and depression. Over time, No Shave November has been adopted by a number of different awareness groups, to recognize the tragedies of sexual assault, prostate cancer and cancer in general. For most of us No Shave November is a joke, but for some it is a serious commitment! I don’t know about you, but I know I’ll be participating! You can too… even if your significant other might not approve, just say you are raising cancer awareness! You all participated in the ALS

Fabulous Beard Fact: Is it a possibility that John “Grizzly” Adams’ beard made him look tougher than the bears he trapped and trained, thereby contributing to his long standing legacy of masculinity. He was a distant cousin of two presidents, John Adams and John Quincy Adams, as well as Revolutionary War patriot Samuel Adams.…

On April 28, 1992, Chris McCandless stepped foot into the woods, a journey that would last four months, coming to an end much earlier than he would’ve hoped. His bold journey was going well until he made a silly mistake when he came across seeds from the wild potato. The seeds themselves are not what killed Chris, it was the amino acids in the seeds that caused him to slowly become paralyzed due to his malnutrition and physical state.…

Burma Shave and The Dollar Shave club's ad campaigns, while in different centuries, are in many ways very similar. They both came to be in a time where there really wasn't much demand for the product. People were already shaving and had their routines and products they preferred, so instead they both went for the largest problems with shaving at the time trying to change it; Burma with the problem of having to use a brush and lather up the shaving cream, and Dollar Shave Club with the problem of no really good cheap razors for anyone on a budget. They also both used humor at some points in their campaigns, however, Burma Shave went on to use their advertising as a public service with safety messages as well. The campaigns both reached their target audience and became effective in their own times because they used a non-traditional and rather a cheap form of advertisement which actually would…

I remember when Donald Trump first announced his political run for office. He built his campaign on the slogan: We’re going to Make America Great Again, “reinforced” by his bold claim of “building a wall”. When Trump got down into the weeds with Megyn Kelly during the first Fox News Republican debate, I sensed Donald Trump was a proud and arrogant man. I went on my own campaign against him; making phone calls, writing emails, calling news agencies and talk shows, posting madly to Facebook — whatever I could do to try to stop a really bad person from wrecking the Republican Party and damaging the nation. NeverTrump was my obsession, but it was, at that time, merely political for me.…

The issue of declawing is being made more obvious to the horrors it can cause to your beloved feline friend. When an onychectomy, otherwise known as a declaw, is performed it is equal to cutting off your finger at the first knuckle. The bone of the third phalanx is removed, it is not just cutting the nail off. Cat's nails retract, by cutting into these muscles and tendons you risk serious long-term physical and emotional impacts. 61 of 163 cats experienced chronic pain for 1-42 days after the surgery ("American Veterinary Medical Association", 2016).…
