It is an initiative campaign that enables schools and organizations to challenge anti-Semitism, racism and bigotry as a whole. No Place for Hate has an innovative and powerful model for creating more inclusive environments, it aims to reduce bias and bullying, increase appreciation for diversity and build communities of respect. The initiative is free-of-charge, and is tailored to fit the needs and cultures of any school or organization.
The Philadelphia Regional Office first implemented No Place for Hate as a community-based initiative in 2001, and in 2005 the program was adapted to meet the needs of schools. The campaign hosts an annual WALK Against Hate. The WALK Against Hate brings together people from across the region to stand up against bigotry and celebrate diversity; it is a 5K Walk as well as a diversity expo and entertainment showcase. This is an opportunity for both youth and adults to make strides against bigotry and hatred in their communities. The walk is kid- and pet-friendly and features activities to keep everyone entertained. Funds raised through the WALK Against Hate will be used to support ADL’s mission, to “secure justice and fair treatment to all” through No Place For Hate, and many other important programs. The walk features the 6abc news channel, free t-shirts, the diversity expo (which is tons of organizations
