Testing should be used to measure where students. Using high stakes is denying children a complete education that deserve and that is mandated by law. “According to most teachers, schools are narrowing curriculum, shifting instructional time and resources toward math and language arts and away from subjects such as art, music, foreign language, and social studies. All students appear to be affected – not just those who are struggling ("Learning Less", 2011) “. A system focused on individual students and their growth would yield far greater results and eliminate educational bias and provide teachers with the information they need to facilitate success with their students. Student need to be taught an array of subjects. Talent lies in all studies, not just in reading and math. NCLB can became effective with implementation of IEP for all students, stop using high stakes testing as a tool to measure proficiency and invest more money in education to support an overhaul and reform. Everyone should be very passionate about education reform for many reasons. All children will become adults who communicate and thrive in this world and it is important that all children have the same opportunity for success. An old adage says, It takes a village to raise a child. Education are the part of our village that is burning and will be too large to extinguish if it is not ratified and improved. The U.S. 's education system without reform threatens everything the people work so hard to sustain: the economy, global standing, strong exchange rates, etc. A call to action is needed before it is too late.
