The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines “phantom” as something that is hard to see or achieve. Heaton’s confusing past made her forgot her objective to prevail. “Over trembling floors, I’m steady” refers to the phantoms of her past haunting her but simultaneously being able to stay well-balanced, keeping herself “steady.” Floors resemble a stable foundation. Heaton’s foundation was her past; her first album, which is a strong foundation, she can grow and build on. “Love” is a feeling of passion but too much can be a sign of weakness. It becomes a weakness when a person is too passionate, and it blinds them. Heaton’s weakness was her inability to elude her past through an increasing passion to succeed. She was devoted to her music so much that she was blinded by everything other than music; music became her weakness. Another weakness she faced were the phantoms of her past, but she won’t let it ruin her like cancer kills people.
