In contrast, competition from other auto maker such as Chevy, Ford, Honda and Toyota are becoming equally as competitive as Nissan hybrids. The high price of replacing the battery is a drawback if it fails. Including the difficult task of trying to replace it at home, that is nearly impossible without the proper technology and tools. The lack of battery charging stations in operation along the interstate makes it extremely hard to plan long trips across the state without stopping to recharge the vehicle. Not know what available power source is available away from home is also a draw as the power cord has to have the right head on the end of the card and fit the device at charging stations.
