After our extensive research and analysis of Nintendo Wii’s history, and current product development dilemma we have developed some possible solutions in that we believe could improve the dimensions of the Wii product, and Nintendo as a brand. These options are as follows: Utilize identical or substitutable technologies similar to competitors, innovate and create new games and products within target market, revamp the launch strategy, create better work conditions for developers. When one purchases PlayStation, they also have the capability to use Netflix, watch videos on YouTube for free no The Wii is the only system that does not support other mediums of entertainment besides just video games at least as a core feature (it is an add on). We need to partner with other types of companies in order to make the Wii, an entertainment hub. This is the most effective tool to innovate the Nintendo Wii. By offering these services as a core element of the Nintendo must also create strategic partnerships with Apple or Skype in order to allow Wii users to video chat with each other, both while playing video games or just by itself. By placing telecommunication and other entertainment capabilities within the Wii, the standard for video game systems will increase. This, with the combination of the retention of better developer due to the higher work standard will affect Nintendo’s atmosphere tremendously. In order to implement this we would first need to draw up contracts with major telecommunication and entertainment companies such as Netflix, or their rival Hulu. We would need to draw up a contract that both promotes the Wii but helps their company as well. Next we need to do the same with Apple for Facetime capabilities or Skype for video conferencing capabilities. The added revenue will enable us to create better contracts and health benefit packages for our employees.
